On Monday, we looked at road construction. But, what if you see this sign instead?

Closed? What do you mean closed? I wanted to go further down this road. I can see my destination from here. What do you mean I can’t go forward?

Disappointment.

But the guy who gave me directions told me to go this way. My map shows this road. I don’t know how else to get there.

Confusion.

The voices from the backseat chime in. “Are we there yet?” “How much longer?”

Frustrations mount.

Now what? Do I pretend the sign isn’t there and push forward anyway? Do I hope the road might reopen eventually and sit here waiting for the road block to disappear? Or do I find another path to take?

What road blocks have you faced in your journey? How did you handle them?

    >Find another path. If the road is COMPLETELY closed, that's what you do. If there's a way to get through and the sign is just to deter those who give up easily, trudge on ahead!

    >Love your theme this week, Candee! And yes, I can totally relate to road closed signs. I experienced quite a few years when God closed the writing road, took me off the path, and I focused on having babies and being a mommy. It was exciting when he finally took the sign away!

And now that I'm writing again, I'm finding new road blocks. In the midst of the blocks good things are also happening, but I'm also learning that the road isn't ever perfectly smooth!

And BTW, I loved your ideas today on my blog about setting a timer for writing. I think that's better than looking at the clock, because we can always squeak by a couple more minutes. But with a timer? Not as easy!
