“I have learned to be content with whatever I have” ~ Phil. 4:11

My journey hasn’t been easy. Chronic fatigue syndrome. A child with Cornelia de Lange syndrome. Another child with allergy-induced asthma. Extremely tight finances. A manuscript rejected – several times.

Have I ever wished things were different? You bet.

Am I learning to be content? Absolutely.

Because contentment is not desiring more than what I have. Being satisfied. Not wishing I was someplace else. It’s realizing that the side of the fence with the greener grass still has plenty of other problems. It’s accepting that there are some things I cannot change and being willing to walk this path.

Although, like the writer E.B. White, “I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world.”

What about you? Are you content? How does being content affect your journey?

I am learning this lesson more and more as I grow in my spiritual life! Thanks for posting this and let us all rely more on God providing what we need not what we want or think we need.

    Love and Hugs ~ Kat
