Ever had one of those week’s (or month’s) where it seems like you’re getting hit from every side?

Nothing seems to go right. Every day brings a new challenge and you feel buried under the stress and worries. Hope feels like it’s slipping away into despair. What do you do when you’re confused? Stumbling around in the dark? Weary to the core?

It seems to happen every year as we approach the end of the football season. I get tired and emotionally beat-up after weeks of single-parenting. So where do I find the strength to carry on? From God’s Word.

“I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13 NIV)

“You … have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4 NIV

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9 NIV)

When you get weary from the journey or it’s dark and hard to see the way … don’t give up.

(If you need another inspirational boost, listen to this song by Calling Glory, “Don’t Give Up!”)

What about you? Are you ever tempted to give up? What keeps you going? Any advice for the weary of heart?
