‘Tis the season to be thankful.

There’s just something special about the calendar turning to November. Outside the leaves have fallen and on television the commercials are already counting down to Christmas. But first? It’s time to pause and be thankful.

So in honor of this month of thanksgiving, here’s my not-so-short list of things I’m thankful for:

  • A solid foundation of faith and the embrace of Heaven. Nothing beats knowing I’m loved by God.
  • Almost 23 years of marriage and the fact we’re still in this together.
  • Princess survived and thrived in her first year since exiting the school system’s supports.
  • The older son is on track to graduate from college in May…debt-free. With an open door to turn last summer’s internship into full-time employment.
  • The younger son found his footing as a freshman in high school with a solid group of friends and even lettered in cross country his first year.
  • Extended family in the area that I get to see semi-regularly.
  • Beautiful Colorado mountain vistas visible on my way home from driving the car-pool.
  • A cozy house, full pantry, and enough wiggle room in the budget to pay for Starbucks while I write.
  • My dream job where I get to read and write and edit and promote stories every single day.
  • Overflowing bookshelves including on my Kindle with abundant adventures to savor over the cold winter nights ahead.
  • My first dabble into indie publishing with fiction releasing next week with plenty more to come in the new year.
  • Fabulous local writer friends and the chance to get away for a few days last week simply to write…and I’m especially thankful for all the new words I was able to capture on the page.
  • A group of excited reviewers and launch team members who help carry the burden of letting the world know about my latest book baby.
  • And I can’t forget my fabulous readers who not only buy my books but post reviews and then reach out through other avenues to share how a certain story touched their hearts.
  • What else? Dark chocolate. Popcorn. Fuzzy blankets. Classic movies. Spotify with unlimited music to fit my mood. And I should probably stop there before your eyes truly glaze over!

What about you? What are you thankful for this year?

I am thankful for so many things. God’s blessings abound. Family, friends, good doctors who help with my chronic pain, sunshine, giggles from 16 months old grandson, and so much more. I love listing blessings! The list reminds me of all the joys in my life. Happy Thanksgiving!
